- , PhD, did a dual honours programme in Economics & Politics at the University of Keele (the UK) and was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1995. During his undergraduate studies he also studied Economics at the University of Giessen in Germany for a period of one year. In June 2001 David completed his doctoral research at the University of Glasgow, focusing on growth, trade and the distribution of welfare with a geographical focus on the former Socialist countries of Central & Eastern Europe. In 2006, with the support of colleagues, he launched the Growth Research Unit (GRU) at the Cracow University of Economics (CUE), which specialises on the strategic determinants of economic growth. Since 2008, David has been employed in the Department of Economics at CUE as a full-time member of staff. He is also a board member of the Chinese-American Scholars Association (CASA) in New York (the USA).
